In 1991 Fortune Magazine searched and collected all the names of the wealthiest and most affluent people around the world – the Nouveau Riche. And they ranked it accordingly… SULTAN HAJI HASSANAL BOLKIAH MU’IZZADDIN WADDAULAH of Brunei who was just 45 years old at that time topped the list. His investment includes real estates and oil and gas reserves.
Names that followed were aged 50 and above. Most of them have investments in oil and gas reserves, some are familiar names who owned well-known products which were sold allover the world, like SAM MOORE WALTON of Wal-Mart and Estee Lauder of of Estee Lauder Inc.
I believe that the list was not made to humble the poor or to worship the Nouveau Riche. But I believe that it was printed to give hope to the underprivileged, to give inspiration to everybody that it is not impossible to get hold of what they have obtained through years and years of hard work and perseverance.
Some of the names may have been from the old-wealth people. Some are from the Nouveau Riche, but one thing is very common to them, once in their life they have been lucky to get hold of the some wealth but then they never stopped there. But instead they used it to invest in more investments and never stopped working.
