Aprilaire relied mostly on nature and experience in the early design stages of the development of how air would flow through the humidifier before purchasing CFdesign software. Forthcoming designs were tested with plastic prototypes together with the water panel inside. Engineers actually calculated the amount of airflow all the way through a mechanism. Design changes will be made and another prototype will be constructed if the measurements if it did not match the said product specifications. Anoszko said that they are able to do many more repetitions and use more creativity in their early designs process. He also said that quality is improved because they have more time to design this brand of furnace filters before commercializing it. When they move forward with a design, they are confident that it is the right one.
